The presents the Undignified Experience set to take place at   Higher Ground Assembly, Westlands- Nairobi.

The event will be a Praise and Worship Experince that is meant to bring together various artistes and Worship teams. Groove Awards with Skiza seeks to Promote, Expose and Celebrate Gospel talent across Africa.

Since its inception in 2004, over 600 artists/groups have been nominated and over 100 Groove statuettes presented to musicians in Kenya and East African region.

The Objectives of Groove Awards are to: Promote and connect Gospel artists across Africa
Open doors for upcoming aspiring singers, songwriters and musicians
Raise the standards in the music industry
Promote local gospel artists and their music to a global audience
Unite gospel musicians through celebrating excellence in music

Acts 1:8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.


GENERAL RULES FOR GROOVE AWARDS 2014 NOMINATION FOR ALL CATEGORIES

1. The music must be positive Gospel music

2. The music must be of good sound quality

3. The music must be commercially released in Kenya within the Eligibility Year: January 1st 2013 to December 31st 2013 through recognized distribution channels. a. The term "Commercially Released" means that the Album is available to view or purchase and released through any of the following mediums:
i. Public album Launch
ii. Radio
iii. TV
iv. Youtube
v. Broadcast through mass media TV or Radio
 

4. The artist must espouse Christian character


CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION IN DIVISION 1 GROOVE AWARDS 2014 

This includes:
> Male artist of the Year
> Female Artist of the Year
> Group of the Year
> New Artist/ Group of the Year

To qualify to be nominated for a MALE ARTIST of the Year or FEMALE ARTIST of the Year Groove Awards Category:
1. The artist must have considerable countrywide mass appeal.

To qualify to be nominated for the GROUP OF THE YEAR Groove Awards Category:
2. The group must consist of two or more members

To qualify to be nominated for the NEW ARTIST/GROUP of the Year Groove Awards category:
3. The artist/ group must have made the first recording which establishes the public identity of that artist during Eligibility Year.


CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION IN DIVISION 2 GROOVE AWARDS 2014

This Division includes:
> Song of the Year
> Worship of the Year
> Ragga/Raggae Song of the Year
> Hip-hop Song of the Year

To qualify to be nominated for the SONG OF THE YEAR Groove Awards category:
>> The song should have received significant media rotation across different mediums cutting across different media houses and regions.

To qualify to be nominated for the WORSHIP SONG OF THE YEAR Groove Awards category:
>> The music must be sang/used congregationally.

To qualify to be nominated for the RAGGA/REGGAE Song of the Year Groove Awards category:
>> The instrumentation of the song primarily consists of a ragga/raggae beat

To qualify to be nominated for the HIP-HOP Song of the Year Groove Awards category:
>> The music/ song must contain 80% rap.


CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION IN DIVISION 3 GROOVE AWARDS 2014
 

This includes:
> Album of the Year
> Collabo of the Year
> Dance Group of the Year
> Video of the Year

To qualify to be nominated for the ALBUM OF THE YEAR Groove Awards category:
>> The album must contain 50% new music produced within the Eligibility Year.
>> The album must contain more than 2 songs with high rotation/air play in the media.
>> One of the productions must be nominated for another category hence popular in the charts within the Eligibility Year.

To qualify to be nominated for the COLLABO OF THE YEAR Groove Awards category:
>> The artists must be separate gospel artists.
>> Only one entry will be considered for the collabo
>> The song must be undisputedly co-shared and/or the originator clearly identified.

To qualify to be nominated for the DANCE GROUP OF THE YEAR Groove Awards category:
>> The group must be a Christian team belonging/serving at a specified church.
>> The group must submit a video of a previous show/event.
>> The group must have more than 2 members.
>> The group must have performed or competed in at least one known event or competition during the Eligibility Year: January 1st 2013 to December 31st 2013.

To qualify to be nominated for the VIDEO OF THE YEAR Groove Awards category:
>> The music must be positive Gospel music.
>> The video must be of high quality and must display high creativity and originality standards.
>> The picture quality of the video must be clear, clean and of high quality.


CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION IN DIVISION 4 GROOVE AWARDS 2014

This includes:
> Gospel Radio Show Of the Year
> Radio Presenter of the Year
> DJ of the Year
> Gospel TV Show of the Year

To qualify to be nominated for the GOSPEL RADIO SHOW of the Year Groove Awards category:
>> The show must be playing positive Gospel music throughout the show.
>> The show must operate under a legal and licensed operator.
>> The show must have produced and released within the Eligibility Year: January 1st 2013 to December 31st 2013.
>> The award goes to the Radio Station that produces the show.
>> The Radio show Must have a presenter.

To qualify to be nominated for the RADIO PRESENTER of the Year Groove Awards category:
>> One must be currently on air at the time of nomination
>> The show must be playing positive Gospel music throughout the show.
>> The show must operate under a legal and licensed operator.
>> The award goes to the Radio Presenter that of the show.

To qualify to be nominated for the DJ OF THE YEAR Groove Awards category:
>> One must have been a known gospel DJ during the Eligibility Year January 1st 2013 to December 31st 2013.
>> One must have performed in various known Gospel events.
>> Being exclusively affiliated to a particular artist does not qualify the DJ for nomination

To qualify to be nominated for the GOSPEL TV SHOW of the Year Groove Awards category:
>> The show must be playing positive Gospel music throughout the show
>> The show must operate under a legal and licensed operator.
>> The show must have produced and released content within the Eligibility Year January 1st 2013 to December 31st 2013.
>> The award goes to the TV Station that produces the show.



CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION IN DIVISION 5 GROOVE AWARDS 2014

This includes:
> Pwani song of the Year
> Rift Valley song of the Year
> Western song of the Year
> Eastern song of the Year
> Nyanza song of the Year
> Central song of the Year


To qualify to be nominated for the GROOVE AWARDS REGIONAL CATEGORIES:

>> One must be from the specified region either by birth or residence.
>> One must perform in a language that is common to that region.
>> This category accommodates choirs, groups, collabos and solo artists.
>> Regional radio stations will be used to find out the ratings of the music in question.
>> The style of the song must be indigenous to that area.



CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION IN DIVISION 6 GROOVE AWARDS 2014

This includes:
> Western Africa Artist of the Year
> Southern Africa Artist of the Year
> Eastern & Central Africa Artist of the Year

To qualify to be nominated for the GROOVE AWARDS AFRICA REGION Categories
>> One must be from the particular region (by category) either by birth or residence.
>> This category can accommodate choirs, groups or artists
>> The artiste should have music with a continental appeal and the music should be accessible to the stated region through various medium including online, music stores and airplay and have general mass awareness across the region.



CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION IN THE SPECIAL CATEGORIES DIVISION GROOVE AWARDS 2014

(These awards are special judges' awards, not to be voted by the general public. The Winners for these categories will be announced during the 2014 Groove Awards)

This includes:
> Song Writer of the Year
> Audio Producer of the Year
> Video Producer of the Year
> Skiza RBT of the Year

To qualify to be nominated for the SONG WRITER of the Year Groove Awards category:
>> One of the librettist’s productions must be nominated for another category hence popular in the charts within the Eligibility Year: January 1st 2013 to December 31st 2013.
>> The Artists' music must have a track record of consistency.
>> The Award goes to the writer of the song.

To qualify to be nominated for the AUDIO PRODUCER of the Year Groove Awards category:
>> The music they produce must be 80% positive Gospel music.
>> The music they produce must be of good sound quality.
>> The music must be commercially released in Kenya within the Eligibility Year: January 1st 2013 to December 31st 2013.
>> One of the productions must be nominated for another category hence popular in the charts within the Eligibility Year. *** (Relative)

To qualify to be nominated for the VIDEO PRODUCER of the Year Groove Awards category:
>> The Videos they produce must be 80% positive Gospel music.
>> The Videos they produce must be of high quality and must display high creativity and originality standards.
>> The Video they have produced must be commercially released within the Eligibility Year: January 1st 2013 to December 31st 2013.
>> The picture quality of the video must be clear, clean and of high quality.
>> It is recommended that the producer and director edit the video to a comprehensive storyline.

GROOVE AWARDS 2014 – SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN



Now in it’s 9th Edition,  Groove Awards with Safaricom continues to award, celebrate and give an ever-growing platform to Gospel music and musicians, bringing to light the incredible talent and potential in the Gospel industry. It provides an opportunity for industry players and fans alike to give their say on the Gospel music releases that have had the most impact in the eligibility period.

Groove Awards is sponsored by Safaricom and produced by Mo Sound Events. Gospel music industry players can now submit their entries for the 2014 Groove Awards with Safaricom at http://submit.grooveawards.co.ke.

A celebration of the Gospel music industry’s talent and progress, Groove Awards with Safaricom recognizes and appreciates the public’s choice.
Artistes, producers, DJS, presenters and other players involved in the extensive gospel music content circuit are now invited to submit entries released to the public between January 1,2013  and January 1, 2014 (Eligibility Period).

There are 30 award categories, as well as new category featuring artistes within the greater African continent. The deadline to enter the 2014 awards is Sunday, March 9, 2014.

Winners will be announced during a live broadcast reception under the theme ‘Let Your Light Shine’ (LYLS) on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at a venue to be confirmed.

The vault 5.0 'Love and Hip Hop' season II



It’s not luck but it’s a blessing to see another year, another God given chance to do something big and different, we give God glory and honor for sustaining the whole Vault Movement till this far, it’s just amazing… so without much ado, Happy New year #Vaulters? So far so God, another happy year to just vault on “VAULT UP” Don’t keep calm, go ahead and VAULT. hehe

The Vault Experience in collaboration with Full house music international presents to you the 2ND season of ‘Love and Hiphop’ in the previous season we had Shem holding it down and for sure he brought the house down, literally…there was no roof…hehe (check out pics on their page)

The Vault is a bi-monthly Hip Hop Event like no other! All your favorite hiphop Music, artists, Deejays, Artists and Poets are under one roof.

Come enjoy Some Great Food, Great Networks, Great Music and of course amazing company.

The "Love and Hiphop" edition will be taking place on the 16TH of February at the KULA KORNER RESTAURANT in Hurlingham right opposite the Department of Defence (DOD) (Take a bus 46 form kencom or a matatu 46 for railways and alight at DOD, or at Total, right after the roundabout for valley road, u will see a KENOL petrol station, kula korner is inside that station)

The event kicks off at exactly 1PM TILL 7PM so it will be great if we all kept time.

The 5thEdition will host once again host the Groove award winner, Holy Dave, who will be performing some new music for the 1st time exclusively on this day, other artist who will also be dropping new jams are Christ Cycoz, Maluda and Dan-gee, Dee of the hit song ‘victory dance’ and who recently released the song ‘Wannabe’ with Holy Dave will also grace our stage. 


This month’s edition being a special edition it will not exclusively be hip-hop, so to bring in that different twist there shall be  for the first on the Vault Gerriey Wainaina a renowned saxophonist and a great music composer, The Vereso’s band will also be in the house to create that wonderful relaxed atmosphere of love. 

The event could never be complete without a poet stepping on the stage and this time around they will be hosting Pudo, one of Nairobi’s most talented urban spoken word artists.
On the decks will be the Vault’s official deejay Ken Tha DJ plus a few surprise Guest Deejays who would be making there debut on this day, the Mcs will be Nasara and Psalms
